About the Client
Our client operates a brand new, state-of-the-art 38-bed adult mental health facility in Auckland, New Zealand. Co-design was at the heart of the design process - whanau (Maori for ‘family’), staff and cultural groups were consulted, and the facility provides 24/7 mental health assessment and treatment services for people with serious mental health concerns.
Our client provides a safe environment where people can stay for short periods, until they reach a point where they can safely access other mental health services. Support and treatment are individualised, offering a wide range of activities working towards recovery such as cooking, relaxation techniques, alcohol and drug education and Karakia prayer. Integrated models of care are provided with a professional and highly skilled team.
The Role
Our client has several nursing roles available for their Inpatient Unit and the Community Team. Your role will be an integral part of the assessment, treatment and recovery of patients.
The program is both innovative and progressive, whilst promoting an environment that enables patient safety, independence, quality of life and health. You will work in partnership with each patient, whanau/family and other involved health professionals to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, making a real difference in the lives of others.
The Drake Medox Homecare team are a wonderful group of professional, expert, experienced, dedicated and committed colleagues who care deeply for their clients and candidates. I was warmly welcomed and felt valued from the time I started. Agreement for flexibility with work hours to suit my family situation gave me certainty and satisfaction that my personal needs and work demands were negotiated with mutual benefit. Thank you for supporting my career options during a time of great uncertainty for me personally. Keep on caring for and valuing people!

My experience with Drake was amazing. I was apprehensive as I had never been with an agency before. The support I received from Meg (my consultant) was amazing. I found the communication was great. I felt well supported in my role and had regular contact from Meg. I can't say enough how good it was working for Drake.

Overseas nurses will need to fulfil the requirements of NZ Immigration which varies and will be a case-by-case basis. Drake Medox will offer support through the process and visa sponsorship is available to those who will need it. To practice in NZ, nurses need to have an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) which is gained through the NZ Nursing Council. Again, Drake Medox will assist and offer support where needed.
